Guard Josh Richardson hit two free throws with 25.7 seconds left in overtime and forward James Johnson added two more with 7.2 remaining to give the Miami Heat a 107-103 victory over the New York Knicks Friday night in Miami.

The Heat (21-17) outscored the Knicks (18-21) 10-6 after the Knicks sent the game into the extra period when forward Doug McDermott hit a corner 3-pointer with 1.1 seconds left to tie it at 97.

Guard Wayne Ellington led six Miami players in double figures with a game-high 24 points, including a triple that gave the Heat a 100-99 lead in overtime.

The win was the Heat's third in a row and put them four games over .500 for the first time in two years.

Guard Courtney Lee scored 24 points to lead the Knicks, who lost for the seventh time in their last eight games. They fell to 3-14 on the road. Former Heat draft pick Michael Beasley added 20, 11 coming in the fourth quarter.

The first half featured seven lead changes and seven ties before the Heat went on a brief 8-1 spurt in the closing minutes of the first half for a 49-41 lead. But the Knicks caught the Heat napping after Dragic's basket with 2.3 seconds left in the second period. Center Enes Kanter was fouled on a breakaway and his two free throws cut the deficit down to 51-45 at the intermission.

The Heat led by 10 early in the third quarter but the Knicks clawed their way back to 75-71 by the end of the quarter with Lee scoring 11 in the period.

The Knicks got their first lead of the second half when McDermott was fouled on a 3-pointer and converted the free throw for a four-point play and 76-75 score. That ignited a 9-0 run for New York and an 80-75 lead with 9:16 remaining in the game.
