Preview Roundups
January 10, 2018
Dallas at Charlotte 7:00 PM ET
The Charlotte Hornets followed up an impressive road trip with an extended rest and hope to still be in sync when they begin a three-game homestand against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. The Hornets have been off since a 108-94 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday, which capped a 3-1 trip that also included double-digit victories over Golden State and Sacramento.
Miami at Indiana 7:00 PM ET
Visiting Indianapolis hasn't been a good experience for the Miami Heat, and they aim to halt a 10-game losing streak in the city when they face the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. Miami hasn't posted a regular-season victory in Indianapolis since Feb. 14, 2012 during the "Big Three" era of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
Utah at Washington 7:00 PM ET
The Washington Wizards had a four-game winning streak come to an end in the opener of their five-game homestand on Saturday while fading down the stretch on the second night of a back-to-back. The Wizards should be well-rested by Wednesday, when they host the struggling Utah Jazz.
Detroit at Brooklyn 7:30 PM ET
Winning on the road has confounded the Detroit Pistons of late, and the away slide hit five straight with a 112-109 loss at New Orleans on Monday. The Pistons will try to end that drought when they visit the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday in the second stop of a three-game trip.
Chicago at New York 7:30 PM ET
The New York Knicks will try for their first set of consecutive wins in nearly a month when they host the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday. The Knicks are 3-8 since a four-game run near the middle of December but they are coming off a rare road win with Sunday's 100-96 triumph at Dallas.
Portland at Houston 8:00 PM ET
The Houston Rockets will continue trying to rediscover their early season form when they host the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday. Houston has dropped seven of its last 10 games after a sizzling 25-4 start and is looking to defeat the Trail Blazers for the fifth time in the last six meetings.
New Orleans at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
The New Orleans Pelicans are used to dealing with injury scares related to Anthony Davis, and they are likely to be without their star big man when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. Davis left Monday's 112-109 win over the Detroit Pistons with an ankle injury and is considered doubtful.
Orlando at Milwaukee 8:00 PM ET
The Milwaukee Bucks will try to bounce back from a sloppy performance on the road when they open a two-game homestand against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo was limited to 17 points while making a season-low three baskets and the Bucks turned it over 18 times in a 109-96 loss at Indiana on Monday.
Oklahoma City at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
The Minnesota Timberwolves haven't made the NBA playoffs since 2004 so the word "letdown" typically doesn't apply to the organization. But Minnesota will certainly have a hard act to follow up when it hosts the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday just 48 hours after pounding the Cleveland Cavaliers into submission.
Atlanta at Denver 9:00 PM ET
The Denver Nuggets have played their best basketball this season at home, winning 14 of 18 games, and open a stretch in which they enjoy 11 of the next 14 contests at the Pepsi Center by hosting the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. The Nuggets began Tuesday in seventh place in the Western Conference standings - one game out of fifth - but have dropped four of their last six despite battling to the end in Monday's 124-114 loss at Golden State.
L.A. Clippers at Golden State 10:30 PM ET
Stephen Curry is ripping through opponents since coming back from an ankle injury but saved his best for the Los Angeles Clippers while dropping 45 points over three quarters in a 121-105 road win on Saturday. Curry will get another chance to torment the Clippers when they visit the Warriors on Wednesday.
