Preview Roundups
January 23, 2018
Arkansas at Georgia 6:30 PM ET
Arkansas had lost four of five games before Jaylen Barford led the way in a shootout victory Saturday against Ole Miss, and the Razorbacks head to Georgia on Tuesday looking to return to .500 in SEC play. Barford’s 23 points helped spark Arkansas to a 97-93 victory over Ole Miss, just its second victory this month as the Razorbacks posted their highest offensive output in seven conference games this season.
Providence at Villanova 6:30 PM ET
On a team loaded with standout guards, Donte DiVincenzo is really making a name for himself for No. 1 Villanova. The sophomore reserve aims for his 11th straight game scoring in double figures when the Wildcats host Providence on Tuesday in a Big East contest.
Clemson at Virginia 7:00 PM ET
No. 17 Clemson begins a new era without senior leader Donte Grantham, in perhaps the most difficult fashion, when it visits second-ranked Virginia on Tuesday. Grantham, who ranks second on the team in scoring (14.2 points per game) and rebounding (6.9), tore his ACL in Saturday's 67-58 victory over Notre Dame and is lost for the season.
Wisconsin at Iowa 7:00 PM ET
Wisconsin sits last in the Big Ten in scoring overall, but hopes to build off its best offensive performance in league play when it takes to the road to face struggling Iowa on Tuesday night. The Badgers averaged 56.3 points while losing three straight road games before shooting a season-best 53.1 percent from the field in a 75-50 rout of visiting Illinois on Friday.
Vanderbilt at Tennessee 7:00 PM ET

After surviving a tough stretch during which it played three of four on the road, No. 21 Tennessee returns home Tuesday to host rival Vanderbilt. The Commodores are 0-5 on the road this season but have been victorious in their last three trips to Knoxville.

Kansas at Oklahoma 7:00 PM ET
Kansas holds a one-game lead in its quest for a 14th consecutive Big 12 championship and has won 10 straight road games dating back to last season, the school's second-longest road winning streak since 1950. The fifth-ranked Jayhawks can equal their best road win streak during that 58-year span on Tuesday night, but it won't be easy as they must get past Trae Young-led No. 11 Oklahoma.
Oklahoma State at Texas Tech 7:00 PM ET
Oklahoma State visits No. 14 Texas Tech full of confidence after an upset of rival Oklahoma over the weekend. The Cowboys are 0-3 on the road this year but feel they can match up with anyone in the wild Big 12.
Alabama at Mississippi 8:30 PM ET
Ole Miss returns home after running its SEC road record to 0-4 after suffering back-to-back losses to Texas A&M (71-69) and Arkansas (97-93). The Rebels have reveled in home cooking, however, as they are a perfect 3-0 at home in conference play and they await a matchup with an Alabama team that is on a roll with four straight wins but has lost five in a row in Oxford dating back to 2010.
Creighton at St. John's 8:30 PM ET
An 18-1 Creighton team struggled to maintain a .500 record last season when it lost Maurice Watson Jr. for the season due to a midseason ACL tear; the team can only hope it fares better after finding out Martin Krampelj suffered a similar fate. The Bluejays continue adjusting to life without their breakout sophomore forward Tuesday when they visit St. John's.
Texas A&M at Louisiana State 9:00 PM ET

Texas A&M looks to continue its climb out of the SEC cellar when it visits LSU on Tuesday in search of its third straight win. The Tigers are headed in the opposite direction as they hope to avoid a season-high fourth consecutive defeat.

Duke at Wake Forest 9:00 PM ET

There were major concerns about No. 4 Duke's defense after it allowed an average of 92.7 points in losing two of its first three ACC games. Since then the Blue Devils have made progress during their four-game winning streak, yielding just 63 points per game, but they will have to pay extra attention to the 3-point line on Tuesday when they visit Wake Forest.

Northwestern at Minnesota 9:00 PM ET
Northwestern looks to beat Minnesota for the second time in less than two weeks when it travels to Minneapolis on Tuesday. The Wildcats have dropped two of their last three games since downing the Gophers 83-60 on Jan. 10, but are coming off a 70-61 win against Penn State on Saturday, and hope to climb back towards .500 in Big Ten play by notching back-to-back victories for the first time since mid-December.
Mississippi State at Kentucky 9:00 PM ET
Kentucky plays as an unranked team for the first time in nearly four years when it tries for its 11th straight victory over visiting Mississippi State on Tuesday. The Wildcats are coming off back-to-back losses at South Carolina 76-68 on Jan. 16 and to No. 22 Florida 66-64 on Saturday, but coach John Calipari still has faith in his young team coming together at the right time.
